Responsible for smooth operation of the laboratory equipment and implement laboratory quality policy and objectives.
To select, approve and commission appropriate test methods as per customer requirements. To allot samples to analysts/Microbiologist for analysis.
To ensure that the laboratory has suitable resources and capability to meet the customer's requirements.
To supervise the testing activities of analysts/Microbiologist and guide them for testing.
To verify the results / calculations submitted by analysts / microbiologist in the calculation sheet.
To assist Quality Manager in QA program and assures quality of the results by various checks as well as from the results of Proficiency Testing and Inter laboratory testing program.
To verify the in house calibration checks, performance checks conducted by analysts/Microbiologist and report to Quality Manager in case of discrepancies.
To review the test report & provides opinions and interpretations on the test report before signing the test report. To provide training to new analysts, Microbiologist, sampling person and attendants and to keep the records of such trainings. To identify training need for analysts / microbiologist and report coordinate with quality manager to arrange training for the same.
Job Authorization of junior staff after successful training and found competence in particular type of testing.
To verify the internal calibration performed by junior staff.
To evaluate the competency of a new analyst/Microbiologist in association with quality manager and maintain record for the same.
To coordinate with quality department regarding external calibration of equipment.
To assist quality manager in risk analysis.
To coordinate with quality department regarding any complaint, non-conforming work, Corrective action.
To review records of Cultures and their Intermediate checks.
Responsible for identifying requirement of new cultures/ Equipment / Media to be procured.
To develop, modify, verification / validation of methods.
To give statement of conformity or opinions and interpretations in test report
To review and authorize the test results.
To prepare and updated master STP for LIMS Software
To calculate UM for the parameters covered under scope
Responsible for providing "additions to, deviations, or exclusions from the method" remarks in the test report as applicable
